If so, you would benefit from a specialist -

Wayne Lawler/ECOPIX - the specialist in field photography

The following people have found Wayne to be a convenient time- and cost-saving alternative to general photographers, when specialised or remote subjects need to be shot:

· Publishers and authors of text books and special interest books, magazines and CD-ROMs,

· NGO and community group editors producing newsletters and promotional material,

· government officers producing extension material and reports,

· local council publicity staff promoting tourism, services and environmental policies,

· annual report editor needing a well-informed portrayal of a corporation's environmental management,

· resort managers advertising their resort's natural attractions, and

· desktop and web publishers needing economical imagery.

Photography Services

Editorial & Commercial: If your productions involve nature-based advertising or editorial themes, or have natural resource management or science content, you need a specialist in nature, wildlife, remote location and technical photography.

These subjects require an understanding of the special techniques and logistics needed, to keep costs down. Wayne Lawler is a qualified wildlife ecologist (Master of Resource Science), an experienced resource manager, environmental consultant and ecotour guide, and a graphic arts-trained professional photographer with 21 years experience in wildlife, nature, wilderness, environmental, ecotourism and technical photography.

Widely published internationally and represented by Photo Researchers in New York, Ecoscene in the UK, Auscape International in Sydney and Photobank in Singapore, Wayne can turn your difficult ideas into world class images on your light table or pixels on your screen economically.

Costing: The cost structure Wayne employs reflects the reality of working with unpredictable subjects under field conditions - no prohibitive hourly or daily rate. Wayne charges production costs plus a reproduction fee per transparency selected for use. You pay only for the pictures you want. And that makes your wish-list suddenly affordable!

Collaborative: Freelance authors looking for a cost effective way to illustrate their work are invited to contact Wayne. If the subject matter is appropriate (basically the Ecopix subject areas, detailed on the Ecopix site) a collaborative arrangement could be made which would not involve any costs to the author, and would create a package greatly enhancing the work's publication and income potential.

Some of the publications Wayne has helped illustrate include Australian Geographic, GEO, Australian Magazine, Good Weekend, Bulletin, Simply Living, Habitat, ANH, New Scientist, Scholastic News, Ranger Rick, Biosfera, BioScience, Parade, Walkabout, Wildlife Australia, Overlander, Bush Driver, Wildlife (UK). Book publishers include BBC (David Attenborough’s Life of Birds), Nelson Thomson, New Holland, Times Editions, Surrey Beatty, Kangaroo Press, Reader’s Digest; Phillip Mathews, Rigby Heinemann, Ink Group, Kondinin Group, Australian Conservation Foundation and Trees for Life calendars and diaries.

Property Portraits: Land holders who love their land and would like a permanent photographic record can have Wayne record the landscapes, vegetation and wildlife of their properties in a custom portfolio. This will heighten your awareness and appreciation of your land, and it will also be a valuable record should you wish to sell. Wayne has a fully self-contained field unit, and will spend 1-2 weeks on the property depending on size, weather etc.

The portfolio includes a display album complete with enlargements, plus originals for future reproduction. The cost is effective since the same cost structure is employed as with editorial and commercial photography - you only pay for the pictures you want. Thus a 20-picture portfolio, for example, would only cost $1460 with the generous Ecopix discounts. A video record can also be provided.
