What Ecopix does:

Ecopix can do three things for you, to save you money and make picture research easier!

Photo library: A specialist source of over 10 000 accurately captioned and visually strong environmental/nature images, available immediately and only a phone call away. Ecopix supplies quality high resolution digital files or, if required, colour transparencies (35mm slides and larger formats), for high quality reproduction in text books, coffee-table books, magazines, brochures, posters, CD-ROMs, web sites etc, at economical prices, and with personal service.

Picture search service: If we can't supply the picture, we will find it! We have a network of contacts in the nature/environmental field. For a small additional fee (10% of the cost of the pictures selected), we will source images you need. You can choose to deal directly with the photographers or agents to select your images (best for urgent needs) or we can provide a composite submission to you.

Dedicated photography: Experienced specialist freelance photographers are available for your particular needs.

Ecopix deals with commercial publishers and designers, ad agencies, government departments and non-government organisations. Sorry, we do not deal with the general public. Government orders need an order number.

How to use Ecopix.

Ecopix is easy to use. We operate the old fashioned way, giving you personal service when you want it, but you can also view and order pictures on line.

Personal service: Simply call (02) 9626 7667 within Australia (61 2 9626 7667 from elsewhere) or email Steve to discuss you picture needs. Steve is our image resource manager (he is an experienced professional photographer as well). We can interpret quite conceptual needs and turn them into an effective and flexible submission of images. We can send film originals by express post for obligation-free review, or low-resolution preview images by email. High resolution scans can be supplied on CD or ftp.

On line service:

1. Select photographs from either the sample galleries (Wildlife,   Vegetation,   Landform,  Ecology,   Conservation,  Environment,   Natural Resource Management,   Ecotourism, and Social Issues ), or the text-based subject catalogue. All the pictures shown or indexed on this web site are held in-house for immediate delivery.

2. E-mail the subject and the codes found next to each image, along with your name, position, company name, address and phone number. You can use the form provided in Order Your Pictures, if you wish. If you would like to view larger preview images, just ask! Send an email listing the picture codes, and we will email 50kb 350-pixel preview mages to you, without charge.

3. Ecopix will then mail to you the high resolution digital file on CD or original film transparencies for the highest possible reproduction fidelity.

Pricing.

Only the images you select for use will cost you anything. A low reproduction fee is payable with the returned transparency. Fees depend on use, reproduction size and print run. For example a typical commercial editorial use at 1/4 page size is only AUS$110; for advertising only $220. We give special ultra-low rates to non-profit NGO's for worthy educational and awareness uses. The fee gives you the right to use the image for one use, eg. one book print run, one edition of a magazine etc.

The low-resolution digital files in this web site may be downloaded for layout purposes free of charge, without infringing copyright. If you are a regular picture user, why not download the whole site to your hard drive for future reference? (Also available on CD - just ask!)

Original film transparencies can be held for a month free of charge and extensions are easily arranged. (Transparencies held beyond one month without arrangement attract a AUS$10 per week holding fee, and there is a AUS$200 compensation fee if the film is lost or damaged beyond use. These are camera originals, please be careful with them.)

Discounts!

We make it easier to use multiple images by giving a 10% discount for the use of 2-4 images at once, and a 20% discount for the use of 5 or more images at once.
